So...I confess, I'm technologically challenged. I know very little about computers, about the internet, and all this new social media stuff. I just signed up for twitter (you can find me as mainlandgirl), but I'm not sure I get what all the buzz is about.
Who has the time to update what they're doing minute by minute? And who even reads this stuff?
I'm sure I'm missing something.
Or I'm from another generation.
If anyone can explain the rave and significance of Twitter, do post a comment.
Anyway, who knew I'd be blogging...I'm sure Twitter will become yet another fun addiction.

Free WiFi - Zippys Hawaii Kai
Yippee for Zippys!
My new pad doesn't have WiFi access...so I'm limited to internet access these days. Starbucks and Coffee Bean limit access to one hour...so on the go I am to find places that provide free & unlimited service.
I'm currently working at Zippy's in Hawaii Kai. The indoor location doesn't get service...but if you sit at the very last table outside...near the marina...you can pick up the signal.
Glad to find a free WiFi place in the hood. If only they served healthy food...

WiFi Places to Eat & Work
Cafe Laufer, Kaimuki Great pastries, warm gourmet sandwiches, and cherry blossom themed decor make this place a delight to eat at. It's a cross between a cafe in Paris and Japan, leaving me to often feel unsettled in this space. Nonetheless, weekdays during the daytime are not crowded and a great place for free WiFi. Just turn on your computer and you'll be automatically connected.
Teddy's Burger, Hawaii Kai Yup, I'm here right now blogging away over a Veggie burger which is actually moist and filled with sunflower seeds and other fresh ingredients. As an American Airlines member I also get 5 miles for every dollar spent. Plus free WiFi. Not bad.
Big City Diner, Kaimuki I like BCD because I can watch football while I work. They have great floats and because I'm not a diner food kind of gal, I usually order the salads. They don't have free access per se, but one of the workers did tell me the password to catch Cafe Laufer's signal after hours: it's "pastries." But shhhh don't tell anyone!
