Olympic Medalist Tommy Kono - Documentary and Memorial Service

Hawaii's own Tommy Kono is a three time weightlifting Olympic champion, winning two gold medals (1952, 1956) and a silver medal in 1960. A documentary of his life and career is slated to air on KVIE in late-July/early-August just before the coming Olympic broadcast. A trailer of the documentary can be viewed at: TommyKonoStory.com

Tommy Kono passed away on April 24th at the age of 85 in Honolulu due to liver complications. A memorial service will be held this Monday, 6/23, in Mililani with Reverend Loverne Sasaki from Sacremento preciding over the service.
