If you're hungry before or after your flight to HNL, there's a nearby plaza with a handful of quick restaurants on the corner of Paiea and Koapaka Streets by Nimitz Highway. The Poke nigiri at the Japanese joint hit the spot ($4 for three pieces) for me. It is located next to the "big kahuna's" (which serves warm and cheesey garlic knots--h/t to my cousin Nicole). There's a Jamba Juice and Starbucks in the shopping plaza as well. Parking is free for two hours with validation. It's also a good spot for drivers to wait if they are picking up guests from the airport.
