Hawaiian Cheesecake Cupcakes (Oahu)

Next to cupcakes, macaroons and old fashion pies... cheesecakes are getting the new spotlight as the race for the next big "it" dessert stands in limbo.

A rightful contender?  David Bearden's hybrid concoction:  Hawaiian Cheesecake Cupcake.

My very thoughtful Auntie V in Honolulu mails me newspaper clipping of places she thinks I'd like to eat.  One place I'll look forward to trying is the Hawaiian Cheesecake Cupcakes at Farmer's Market across the island--KCC, Ala Moana, Haleiwa, Kailua and the Blaisdale.  At $3 a piece, they come in a variety of flavors using local ingredients:  original, Kona coffee, coffee liquer, lilikoi and strawberry.  Cheesecake by the slices can be purchased at www.hawaiiancheesecakes.com (...and mention you found it on this site!)
