Travel around the world and one finds that McDonalds adds menu items that cater to the local palette > teriyaki burgers in Japan to Buffalo mozzarella salads in Italy. Travel domestically to the islands of Hawaii and one finds a bowl of steaming saimin, local breakfast combos (spam and eggs) and sweet taro pie tempting their hungry tummies. McDonalds not only adapts to the tastes of the local economy but becomes a national and international travel destination of its own.
